Beta, level cap 30 · checked October 6, 2026
World of Warcraft: Forever
Blizzard's permanent level 1–60 Azeroth launches November 4. The beta is live. The planner, the meta builds and the notes here cover Blizzard's October 1 build. The tier lists are still Wowhead's level-20 rankings until Wowhead updates them.
What the first two beta builds changed
Blizzard's development notes touched every class, and the October 1 build raised the level cap from 20 to 30. The changes that matter most when planning a character:
- October 1 build: the level cap is now 30. Excavation Site: Wetlands (levels 26 to 31) is new, and Razorfen Downs (25 and up) and Uldaman (30 and up) are open. Fury Warrior was reworked, the Protection tree was rearranged, and Druid, Mage, Paladin and other trees changed too. The planner has the October 1 trees.
- Paladin: Holy Strike's cooldown drops to 10 seconds for every Paladin and Improved Holy Strike is gone from the Holy tree. Retribution's Vengeance, Two-Handed Weapon Specialization, Sacred Arbiter and Twist of Light were all retuned.
- Shaman: Elemental Alacrity moved up to row 3 and Elemental Fury down to row 6. Air totems from different Shaman no longer stack.
- Warrior: Slam now has an 18-second cooldown, and Arms' Bloodthrill procs up to 20% of the time from main-hand swings.
- Druid: Mangle is now Primal Bite, Wrath hits about 50% harder, and heal-over-time spells can crit.
- Mage: Wake of Fire and Hot Streak last longer; Arcane Missiles checks line of sight once per channel.
- Everyone: talent resets cost 1 silver during the beta, and the optional Cooldown Manager is testable for five classes.
