Pick a role, rally your squad, and fight through fully destructible battlefields where 200 players, tanks, aircraft, artillery, and pure chaos collide.
Over The Top: WWI is an action game built around battlefields that can be blown apart, dug through, and reshaped while the fight is still raging.
Fortifications collapse. Explosions carve new sightlines. Trenches become routes, traps, and cover. Every match turns the map into a record of the battle that just happened.

02 // CLASS COMMAND
KNOW YOUR JOB.
All three nations share eight functional roles. Weapon models vary by faction, but the job your team needs from each class remains the same.
CLASS 01 // COMMANDOFFICER
DIFFICULTY HIGHRANGE MIXEDPRIORITY COMMAND
You are a mobile team spawn and the battlefield’s support coordinator. Staying alive in an aggressive, protected position is more valuable than chasing kills.
CORE JOB
Keep a safe forward spawn position alive
Use smoke and call-ins to open routes
Reveal threats and coordinate pushes
BEST PRACTICE
Think 10–20 seconds ahead of your team
Use the charge buff as smoke blooms
Rotate directional strikes away from friendlies
EARN FASTER
Capture and defend active objectives
Spot enemies and support team actions
Stay useful instead of taking low-value duels
AVOID THIS
Leading the first wave, wasting your mobile spawn, or dropping artillery into your own push.
RECOMMENDED PERKSDIE HARD SOLDIER · HEALER · LIGHT FOOTED
Class advice reflects the March 2026 launch-era role system. Balance and equipment can change; verify current patch notes before treating exact numbers as permanent.
03 // XP + UNLOCK PLAN
PROGRESS WITH PURPOSE.
XP unlocks shared passive perks. Officer call-in credits are separate: they regenerate and grow through objective scoring during a match.
THE FASTEST RELIABLE ROUTE
PLAY THE OBJECTIVE. STACK USEFUL ACTIONS.
01Fight inside the active sectorCapture and defense scoring adds value while you earn kills and assists.
02Use your class tools constantlyBuild, revive, spot, repair, drive, and support—the game rewards productive battlefield actions.
03Stay alive long enough to contributeRepeated low-value charges cost tickets and erase time you could spend scoring.
04Practice offline if servers are quietAccount progression carries over, so learning maps and kits still moves the bar.

GENERAL INFANTRY
DIE HARD → LIGHT FOOTED → HEALER
Survive the shelling, reach cover faster, then turn trench revives into sustained pressure.
ENGINEER MAIN
DIE HARD → EARTHWORM → HEALER
Stay alive around exposed construction, build faster, and rescue teammates inside your fortifications.
VEHICLE / HEAVY
DIE HARD → MECHANIC → BOMBARDIER
Reduce explosive punishment, improve machine performance, then add stronger area clearing.
NO FAKE SHORTCUTS
There is no sourced “one trick” that beats consistent objective play plus class actions. The best grind is a productive loop: score the sector, use the kit, survive, repeat.
RANGE SCHOOL // LIVE ROUNDS
BULLET DROP IS NOT DAMAGE DROPOFF.
Projectiles travel and fall over distance. Separately, weapon damage can decrease across its listed dropoff range. A round can land exactly where you intended and still hit for less damage because it arrived beyond the weapon’s strongest band.
01 // FIND THE RANGE
USE THE OBJECTIVE MARKER
Read the distance shown on objectives or known terrain. At ordinary trench ranges, aim normally. As distance grows, move the sight picture above the intended impact point.
02 // BUILD A HOLD
WATCH THE FIRST IMPACT
Fire one controlled shot and use dust, sparks, or a visible hit to judge elevation. If it lands low, hold higher; if the target is moving, add lead in the direction of travel as well.
03 // KEEP ONE RIFLE
TRAJECTORIES FEEL DIFFERENT
Learn a favorite rifle or scoped rifle before swapping constantly. Different weapons have different useful ranges and damage-dropoff bands, so one memorized hold does not fit every gun.
04 // MG CORRECTION
WALK BURSTS ONTO TARGET
Machine-gun rounds now follow the game’s updated bullet system rather than always firing unnaturally straight. Use short bursts, observe the beaten zone, correct elevation, then suppress.
RIFLEMANCenter mass first
At long range, a small elevation correction is more reliable than forcing headshots with an unfamiliar rifle.
SNIPERHold, observe, refine
Use the scope to read the miss, adjust vertically for drop and horizontally for movement, then repeat from a new position.
HEAVY GUNNERCorrect the beaten zone
Your tracers and impacts show where the stream is landing. Burst control keeps the correction readable and manages heat.
The game does not publish a universal meter-by-meter hold chart for every weapon. Treat these as field methods, and recheck after gunplay patches.
04 // SANDBOX OF DESTRUCTION
RESHAPE THE WAR.
Blow up terrain, dig new routes, collapse buildings, and destroy fortifications. Permanent destruction changes cover, movement, and sightlines for everyone still fighting.
01DIG ANYWHERECreate trenches and fighting positions in the terrain.
02DESTROY EVERYTHINGBreak structures, defenses, and battlefield cover.

BRING EVERYTHING.
Historical weapons meet experimental machines and an intentionally unruly sandbox.
INFANTRY
RIFLES · MACHINE GUNS · SHOVELS
Fight from first or third person with the weapons of the line troops—and whatever else is close enough to swing.
HEAVY SUPPORT
ARTILLERY · GAS · DYNAMITE
Break the stalemate with area denial, demolition, and firepower built to erase strongpoints.
VEHICLES
TANKS · AIRPLANES · EXPERIMENTS
Crew large vehicles together, take to the air, and field machines designed for a rapidly changing war.
MORALE ISSUE
BAGPIPES · BAGUETTES
Because the battlefield is grim enough already: boost morale with a bagpipe or settle matters with bread.
