CRB 0.6.3-beta
Private test build. UI/UX v2 foundation.
- New shared style system (theme tokens) and widget library used by every window.
- Rebuilt recommendation card: DO THIS NOW header, mode / context chips, key badge, large framed icon, plain-English reason, Next row and footer. Distinct looks for normal, buff reminder, proc, cooldown, urgent heal, critical heal, hold, no target and unavailable states. Compact, tall and icon-only layouts share the same code.
- Healing Radar redesigned ("HEAL FIRST"): ranked rows with words and symbols as well as colour, a selected-ally block, collapse to "Group stable", honest "Health protected" state, compact mode, scale, role tags, and Under / Above / Free position. Smart / Always / Off behaviour is unchanged.
- New Control Center replaces the three separate settings windows: Dashboard, Appearance, Layout, Rotation, Smart Healing, Healing Radar, Keybinds, Learning Mode, Accessibility, Profiles, Advanced, About. Settings are reorganised, none removed.
- Keybind editor: click a box and press a key, conflict feedback, per-key clear, clear all, named key sets, combat-safe messaging. Ctrl-key combinations are now captured correctly and stored in the client's ALT-CTRL-SHIFT order.
- Form and stance awareness: CRB reads the current form / stance and applies it to every talent tree. A Restoration (or Balance) Druid in Cat or Bear Form now gets Cat or Bear abilities from the spells it has learned instead of caster spells, and buff reminders pause while shapeshifted. Only spells the current form can use are recommended or shown on the click-cast bar: no Cat or Bear abilities in caster form, and no caster spells or heals in Cat or Bear Form (a friendly target there shows "Change form"). Warrior Overpower and Revenge follow their stance. Forms are named in the footer; Warrior stances are shown by name. New command: /crb state (also lists what the form hides).
- Detail levels: Simple / Smart / Learning (presentation only).
- Themes: Modern Dark, Class Accent, Minimal, High Contrast.
- Accessibility: large text, high contrast, colour-blind friendly palette, reduced motion, large key badge, optional critical-heal sound.
- Profiles: named look-and-layout profiles and built-in presets. Keybindings are never part of a profile.
- Test Mode with scenario panel and a clear TEST marking; live previews in settings.
- Minimap button: Control Center on left-click, quick menu on right-click, optional custom icon art, native fallback kept.
- Optional click-cast bar (experimental, off by default): fixed secure spell buttons set up out of combat, with the recommended one highlighted. Nothing protected is touched during combat, so the big icon itself is not clickable (Blizzard does not allow a clickable button to follow a changing recommendation in combat). The bar follows your form: it is rebuilt for it out of combat, and a form change mid-combat fades the buttons the new form can't use until combat ends. /crb click opens a troubleshooting panel. The setting starts switched off for everyone.
- Original CRB artwork: panel backgrounds, 9-slice borders and frames, buttons, controls, chips, key badge, severity and role icons, dividers and the minimap icon. Any piece that is missing falls back to built-in flat styling, and the High Contrast and Minimal themes always use flat styling. The optional alert sound is not included (a game sound is used).
- Learning mode explains skips: hover the main icon to see which higher-priority spells were passed over and why (on cooldown, wrong form, wrong target, not usable).
- Rotation fixes from the Forever guides: Retribution Paladin no longer uses Consecration as a single-target filler (it stays in the AoE priority); Bear Form uses Maul for single target and Swipe for AoE; Restoration Druid adds Insect Swarm after Moonfire once it is learned.
- Target rules: a spell that only works on certain targets is skipped, on the card and on the click-cast bar, when the target cannot be affected. Exorcism is offered only against Undead and Demon targets (marked Testing). New command: /crb target.
- Spell tooltips: hover a spell icon or click-cast button for the game's own tooltip. One setting turns them off everywhere (Layout > Show spell tooltips).
- Customisation: click-cast bar size, spacing, rows or columns, background, highlight style, shape marker, key labels, cooldown seconds, fade when idle, exact position, show all prepared actions; exact HUD position with nudge buttons; text size and outline.
- Accessibility alternatives: colour-vision palettes (red-green safe, blue-yellow safe, greyscale), settings window size, optional spoken cues (needs the game's text-to-speech), typed key entry for heal keys, and quick setups for low vision, calm and simple, and easy clicking. All are saved with profiles except window size and positions.
- Status bar texture and font choices come from LibSharedMedia.
- Default HUD card is slightly taller (300x112) so header, icon row and footer fit. Resized HUDs are left as they were.
- /crb reset keeps saved profiles. New commands: /crb test, /crb radar, /crb click, /crb about.
- The Next row lists only spells you can use right now. A spell that is only waiting on its cooldown is left out unless Rotation > "Show spells waiting on a cooldown in the Next row" is on; when nothing is usable the card still heads with the first cooling spell as "coming up".
- /crb cooldown now also says what CRB recommends, what it passed over and what the Next row holds, and /crb cooldown watch prints a line each time a spell starts or stops cooling or the recommendation changes, for checking cooldown handling in the game.
- One-Button Rotation (beta, optional, off by default; Druid first): one key press, one cast. CRB prepares a secure macro out of combat from the same plan the Smart Advisor uses and the game picks the first spell on it that it allows when you press. Form-aware (caster, Cat, Bear, Moonkin); optional Shift / Ctrl / Alt versions for AoE, single target, keep-it-up, cooldowns, interrupts, defensives and utility; extras for the everyday key (all off); saved with profiles except the key and the switch. Nothing protected changes in combat. New command: /crb onebutton.
- User sequences (beta). Make your own rotation without editing any file: Control Center > Sequences has a Library, an Editor, Import / Export and Action Bars. A sequence is a stack of blocks built in a block editor: spells picked from your spellbook, macros, Conditions and Loops that hold more blocks (up to four levels, numbered 2.1 and so on), and a list of its own for the Shift, Ctrl and Alt presses. Blocks open in place, drag between places (or move from a menu), copy, switch off, fold and undo; Sequential or Priority; a preview of the next presses; exact spell ranks, target, form, stealth and combat options under Advanced. It runs one step per key press. Sequences made with the first, flat format still import and are upgraded. Assign one to an action-bar button (click it on the chart, or drag from the library) and the keys, mouse buttons and controller buttons the game has on that button run it; or give it a key of its own. Each running sequence is a small secure button of CRB's own, prepared out of combat and never changed in combat; one press is one step whichever way the "act on key down" setting is set. Sequences share as one line of text starting with !CRB! (single, or a collection): a preview first, then Keep mine / Replace mine / Import as copy, original authors kept, text only ever read as data. The rotation source can be the Smart Rotation or a user sequence (the HUD card then shows the sequence's next step). "From Smart Rotation" copies the built-in spells into a sequence to edit. New commands: /crb seq, /crb import, /crb export, /crb bars, /crb verify seq. The Smart Rotation is unchanged. The page shows four separate states for each sequence (passes the checks, compiled, secure-ready, confirmed by the game) and /crb verify seq reports whether the game still holds what CRB wrote and that nothing was written in combat. Not tested in the game yet.
- The sequence editor is simple first. A new rotation is called My Rotation; the first view is a name, How should it run? (One by one or Priority, each with a sentence), your spells, one big ADD A SPELL button, a preview card of what the next presses do, and SAVE, PUT ON ACTION BAR and GIVE IT A KEY. Everything else (macros, groups that repeat, Only-when groups, different button combos, history, validation, details) is behind More options... and Advanced options on a block. It is one editor: the same block tree, undo, compiler and save, shown in plain words first (Repeat a group, Only when, Different button combo, Ready to use). Blocks are bigger, with Move / Edit / More, disable and delete explained, human messages ("CRB can't use this spell on this character because you haven't learned it yet."), a three-way question when leaving unsaved changes (Save, Discard, Keep editing), and the base block-editor art (block kinds, add and move buttons, Main / Shift / Ctrl / Alt headings, normal / selected / disabled block panels, the Advanced panel).
- The spell picker is a real scrolling list: mouse wheel, a scroll bar with a draggable thumb and arrows, arrow keys, Page Up / Page Down / Home / End, the controller's D-pad, the spell you are on stays in view, an honest footer ("Showing 4-15 of 20"), and the number of rows follows the screen and the text size. The last spell can always be reached and chosen with the mouse, the keyboard and a controller.
- Smart skip for spell blocks: "skip this spell when CRB knows you don't need to cast it right now". It asks the same evaluator as the Smart Rotation, Next, Learning and the click-cast bar, uses the maintenance groups in CRB's data (the Paladin seals, the Mage armors ...) and works for every class. What a press can do about each reason is stated once: a form or stance, an enemy or a friend, combat and stealth are checked by the game itself when you press; a buff, debuff, cooldown, combo points or creature type can only be advised, so the editor, the preview, the card and /crb seq debug say "Block 3 skipped: Seal of Fury is already active (advice only)" and a press still runs its step. Nothing protected is changed. New: /crb verify skip.
- Cast Sequence blocks. More options... > Add a Cast Sequence: a numbered list of spells with an optional Stop, which turns into one /castsequence macro line the game runs by itself (the game keeps its place; a step it cannot cast holds the list there). Advanced options: start over when the target changes, when combat ends or after seconds, who it is for, form, combat and stealth, and the line it turns into, which can be copied or turned into a Custom Macro. It is not Smart skip. Not tested in the game yet: the Stop (null) and the start-over words are written as the game's macro help describes them. New: /crb verify castseq.
- How often. Every block can come up every round (Often), every 2nd (Normal), 4th (Sometimes) or 8th (Rarely) round of the list it is in, or an exact number under Advanced options. It counts rounds, never seconds, and the preview says which round a press is in.
- More options... now reads: Add a Cast Sequence, Add a Repeat Group, Add a Condition, Add a Custom Macro, with Undo, Redo and History. Add a Button Combo is on the first screen.
- The first screen of the editor holds only what the five jobs need: how it runs, adding and moving spells, editing a basic spell, a button combo, and Save / Put on Action Bar / Give it a Key. An open spell shows the spell, who it is for, Move Up, Move Down and Delete; rank, Smart skip, how often, Disable and Duplicate are under Advanced options; Undo and Redo are under More options; the rotation's picture is chosen under Sequence details; the two run-mode cards explain themselves on hover instead of with a ? button.
- A sequence key runs its sequence and nothing else. The plain list's steps now say "no modifier held" so the game stops one if Shift, Ctrl or Alt goes down while the key is half pressed (not on a key that already contains a modifier; /crb seq guard on|off). Every press is traced: /crb seq debug ends with the rotation, list, press, block, keys held, step and the spell the game sent for each of the latest presses, counts a spell the step does not name as "NOT TRACED" and a plain press while a modifier was down as "WRONG LIST". /crb seq trace reset empties it. The secure code is unchanged.
- Import: the paste box keeps one height and scrolls inside, so a long !CRB! string cannot run over CHECK ROTATION, IMPORT and Clear at any window or text size. IMPORT waits for a check that passed; Clear empties the box, the check and the result.
- Ability error sounds (Accessibility): Muted turns off only your character's spoken error lines ("not ready yet", "out of range"), Normal puts back what you had. Nothing else is muted. Where the client has no such setting the page says so and changes nothing.
- A rotation shows itself on the screen. Put on Action Bar lays the rotation's picture, the button's own key, a waiting-for-combat mark and the rotation's name in the tooltip over the Blizzard button (nothing of Blizzard's is changed; taking it off puts the button back). Give it a Key shows a small button of CRB's own that can be moved, locked, resized and hidden, with its place remembered. Each rotation has a picture of its own: the first spell's, a spell you choose, or CRB's.
- Share is plain: COPY !CRB! STRING, and PASTE A CRB ROTATION > CHECK ROTATION > IMPORT, with the choices only when the rotation clashes with one you have.
- The Control Center can be resized from the lower-right corner: the pages reflow (text wraps again, controls keep their height and alignment, the page list on the left keeps its width, the scroll area follows), with a minimum that always fits the page list and the Test Mode button at your text size, a maximum of 92% of the screen, a remembered size, "Lock this window's size" and "Reset window size" (Accessibility) and /crb resetwindow. Presentation only.
- One-Button page: a clear status block (ON / OFF, the assigned key as a key badge or "No key assigned", the current action), a "what a press would do right now" section that compares the key with the Smart Advisor and explains a mismatch, and a layout that grows with its text instead of overlapping. "Suggested setup" sets Shift = AoE, Ctrl = Keep it up, Alt = Utility in one click.
- Controller support (beta). Controller buttons can be used anywhere CRB takes a key: a heal spell and the One-Button key can each have a keyboard key and a controller button at the same time (both are real secure bindings, prepared out of combat, never changed in combat). Combinations use the game's own controller modifier buttons (LT = Shift and LB = Ctrl by default; Controller page lets you choose). The card shows A, LT+X and so on when you are using a controller (Input display: Auto, Keyboard and mouse, Controller; Auto waits a moment before switching), with Xbox, PlayStation or neutral button names, a larger button size and optional short vibration for a critical heal (only if the game offers it). New Controller page, "Accessibility - Controller" preset, and controller navigation for the Control Center (larger controls, a focus frame, D-pad, confirm, back, page buttons, sliders, lists, dialogs). New command: /crb pad. Not yet tested with a real controller.
- Spell ranks. CRB now works with the exact rank of each spell you have learned instead of one set of numbers per spell: DoT and HoT lengths, cooldowns, cast times, costs and the stance a spell needs (Warrior) come from that rank, and a rank you cast on purpose is timed by its own length. Rend, for example, lasts 9 seconds at rank 1 and 18 at rank 4; Rupture and Slice and Dice last longer per combo point. Several old per-spell numbers were wrong and are gone (Battle Shout, Thunder Clap, Mark of the Wild, Blessing of Might, Fire Nova and others). The game's own numbers win where it reports them, and lengths measured on your DoTs are remembered. New command: /crb ranks (add a spell name for one spell, "all" for every spell, "reset" to forget measured lengths). Not yet checked in the game.
- Spell rank data now says where each row came from and how far it has been checked. /crb ranks marks every spell [unverified] (only the table), [confirmed] (the game or a measured length agreed) or [CONFLICT] (the game or a measurement disagreed: the line says which side CRB used, and a disagreement is never settled quietly). New: /crb ranks conflicts and /crb ranks export. A length measured for a finisher is kept per combo point, so Rupture at 1 and at 5 points are compared with their own listed lengths.
- New /crb verify: live checks for the things that were researched rather than measured: the real length of an effect against what CRB expects, finisher lengths per combo point, stance and form needs against what the game says, which names and ids the game accepts for a spell (for example Mangle, Mangle (Cat)), spells that exist under two ids, target types, heal ranks, the action buttons with the keys and controller buttons bound to them (/crb verify bars), whether the game's text-encoding functions work (/crb verify share), and a log of your own casts and the game's messages with the target they were on. It only reads.
- Controller pictures are now 128 x 128 (a power of two) instead of 96 x 96, and /crb pad glyphs opens a small window showing all 16 so a picture that does not load can be seen at once.
- About also has a short Community section with a link you can copy (also in the README).
- About now has a Credits & Acknowledgements section (also in the README). The two names are drawn in your accent colour, and the Patreon support link is shown as text you can select and copy.
- Controller buttons are drawn as small pictures on the card (A, B, X, Y, bumpers, triggers, D-pad, sticks, Start, Back) where a picture matches your controller's button names; a combination such as LT + A shows both pictures. Buttons without a matching picture, and everything when "Show button pictures" is off, show their words.
- Rotation lists were reviewed against the Forever class guides for all 27 talent trees. Spells the game itself enables (Overpower after a dodge, Victory Rush after a kill, openers from Stealth, Mongoose Bite, Riposte, Fire Nova) are only recommended when the game says they can be used. Survival Hunters get ranged and melee buttons by distance. Rogue finishers wait for 5 combo points. Conflagrate waits for the end of Immolate. Prayer of Healing and Wild Growth wait until several allies are hurt. Seal choice follows weapon speed for Retribution. Several lists that hid their later spells behind an always-ready one (Smite, Shadow Bolt, Pyroblast, Wrath) were reordered; Heroic Strike is no longer suggested while leveling. New buff reminders: Battle Shout, Power Word: Fortitude, Arcane Intellect, Blessing of Might, Seal of Light, Soul Link. These rules come from one guide each and may change as Forever does.
- Heal key buttons now listen for both the press and the release and act in the phase the game's own setting asks for, like the click-cast bar (a button that only listened for the release would never fire when clicks act on the press).
- The click-cast bar greys a button whose spell the game says is cooling down even when it hides the time (with "Show cooldown seconds" on); seconds are shown only when they are readable.
Engine
- Hidden values: Forever can hide cooldown timing, aura timing, resources and unit identity from addons. CRB no longer compares, adds or prints any of them (this fixes the "attempt to compare ... a secret number value" error). Cooldowns are read from the game's yes/no flags first (active, enabled, on the global cooldown) and the numbers only when they are readable; if neither can be read, the spell is simply not held back and CRB's own cast tracking applies. A spell the game says is cooling down but will not time shows the game's own cooldown swirl instead of seconds. A hidden DoT or HoT timer is estimated from your own casts and marked with "~". The same guards cover combo points, spell usability, the target's identity and cast ids. New command: /crb cooldown shows what the client reported for each spell.
- Smart recommendation, healing and secure heal-key logic unchanged.
- Healing Radar data now also reports how many group members had readable health.
- Settings schema 10 (existing settings are migrated automatically).
