Frequently asked questions
Short answers. Each one links to a fuller page.
The basics
Is CRB only for WoW: Forever?
Yes. CRB is built for WoW: Forever, and its rotation lists, spell data and wording are written for that game only.
Does CRB play the game for me?
No. CRB recommends and you press every key. It does not create key presses, run combat unattended, pick a healing target for you or get around protected actions. It is not a bot and does no automation.
The optional heal keys and click-cast bar use Blizzard's own secure buttons, and every cast still needs your key press or click. Read how that works.
What are Sequence Mode and the Rotation Helper?
They are the two ways to use CRB. In Sequence Mode you follow a CRB sequence: CRB tracks where you are in it and shows the current and upcoming action. In the Rotation Helper CRB evaluates your character and the fight and shows which ability makes sense next. In both, you press your normal ability key. See Sequences.
Is CRB connected to GSE, GSE United or The Fence?
No. They are independent community projects made by other people, and CRB is not affiliated with or endorsed by them. CRB links to The Fence and GSE United as community resources, with credit to their creators. See About.
Does CRB work while leveling?
Yes. It covers levels 1 to 30. Levels 1 to 9 use a class leveling profile. From level 10 CRB reads your talent points and uses the lists for your main tree. Every recommendation is filtered against spells you have actually learned.
Which classes and talent trees does it cover?
All 9 classes and all 27 talent trees. See the class pages and the rotation library.
Is CRB released?
No. CRB is in development and private testing and has not been publicly released. Every rotation rule is marked Testing until it has been checked in the game, and the newer features (Sequence Mode, the click-cast bar and controller support) are labeled beta or experimental. The release status page shows where things stand.
Where can I download CRB?
Nowhere yet. CRB is not publicly available, and nothing on this site can be downloaded. CurseForge and Wago are planned after Crogin approves the addon as release-ready, and nothing is listed on either yet. The release status page will show real links when they exist.
When will CRB be released?
There is no release date. CRB will be released when Crogin approves it as release-ready, and the date will be posted on the release status page then.
How CRB decides
How does CRB choose a spell?
Each class and talent tree has priority lists. CRB walks the list from the top and recommends the first spell you have learned that the game says you can use right now. Buffs and seals you are missing come first. Read how CRB works.
Why did CRB skip a spell?
A spell is passed over when it is on cooldown, in the wrong form or stance, aimed at the wrong target, or not usable at that moment. In Learning mode, hover the main icon to see what was passed over and why. The command /crb cooldown prints the same information in chat. See Why this spell?
Does CRB know my level and spell ranks?
It knows your level and works with the exact rank you have learned. Where the game reports a number itself (cast time, cooldown, cost, rank), the game's number is used. The rest comes from a table of ranks built from published spell data, which has not been confirmed in play yet.
Does it support forms and stances?
Yes. CRB reads your current form or stance. A Druid in Cat or Bear Form gets Cat or Bear abilities, and caster spells and heals are left out while in them. Warrior Overpower and Revenge follow their stances.
Does it track buffs and debuffs?
It reminds you about missing buffs, and it tracks your damage-over-time effects on the target. When Forever hides a timer from addons, CRB estimates it from your own casts and marks it with a ~.
Setup and customizing
Can I customize it?
Yes. There are four themes, saved profiles and presets, a resizable and movable card, text sizes from 80% to 200%, colour choices and more. See Customizing the HUD.
Can I change the keybinds?
Yes. Open Control Center, then Keybinds, click a key box and press the key. Shift, Ctrl and Alt combinations and mouse buttons 3, 4 and 5 work. CRB heal keys are off by default and have no default keys. See Keybinds.
Can I use a controller?
Controller support is in beta. A spell can have a keyboard key and a controller button at the same time, and the card can show the button you would press. It has not been tested with a real controller yet. See Controller support.
Where are my settings saved?
In the game's saved variables, under the name CRBForeverDB. Replacing the addon folder does not remove them, and older settings are migrated automatically.
How do I update CRB?
There is nothing to update yet because CRB has not been released. Update steps will be on the release status page once the first release exists.
How do I reset it?
Type /crb reset. Your saved profiles are kept.
Healing and sequences
Does CRB heal for me?
No. A healer build shows who needs a heal first and which spell to use, and the Healing Radar only shows information. You pick the target and press the key.
What is a sequence?
A sequence is a rotation path written in the addon's block editor: spells in the order you want them. In Sequence Mode CRB tracks where you are in it and shows the current and upcoming action, and you press your normal ability key. CRB never casts for you. Use the Rotation Helper when you want CRB to react to the fight. See Sequences.
How do I share a sequence?
The Share tab makes one line of text that starts with !CRB!. Paste it into the import box on the other player's side, check it, then import it. The text is read only as data and cannot run anything.
Problems
CRB recommends a spell I do not expect. What now?
Start with Troubleshooting. Rules are Testing and can be wrong. If it is a real mistake, report it with your class, build and what CRB showed.
How do I report a bad rotation or a bug?
Use the report page. It builds a block you can copy, and a button that opens an email to crogingaming@gmail.com.
