Sources & method
How this guide is put together, what the labels mean, and which parts update on their own.
Where the information comes from
- Bethesda first. Release notes, Inside the Vault articles, the community calendar, Bethesda Support and the Fallout 1st page on fallout.bethesda.net. Every mechanic, number and date on this site traces back to one of these.
- Reference sources where Bethesda doesn't give the detail, such as Daily Ops tier times. These are named on the page where they're used: the Fallout Wiki ↗ and Nuka Knights ↗.
- Community signals for builds and weapon picks: recent builds on Nukes & Dragons ↗ and FalloutBuilds ↗. These show what players run, not what's objectively best.
Nothing here copies another site's database or map. Tables summarize what Bethesda published; where you need the full list, we link to the original.
Labels
- Official
- From Bethesda.
- Community
- What players report or run. Useful, but not a fact about the game.
- CGN
- Our own suggestions and reading of the facts.
- Testing
- On the Public Test Server, not in the live game. It can change or be cut.
What updates automatically
- Official news: the news lists read Bethesda's Fallout 76 announcements on Steam through this site's own server, refreshed about every 20 minutes. If the feed is down, the page shows the last posts we checked by hand and links to Bethesda.
- Event states: "On now" and "Next" on the calendar are worked out in your browser from Bethesda's published dates.
What's checked by hand
- The current update, season and Legacy Season.
- The event calendar (from each season's community calendar).
- Everything in the guides: perks, gear, endgame, C.A.M.P. and fishing.
Each page shows when it was last checked. When Bethesda ships an update, the affected pages are rechecked against the new notes.
