Rockstar announced the album on September 17, 2026. It is made in partnership with Atlantic Records and features what Rockstar calls a genre-defying roster of artists, with 34 original tracks that capture the energy of Vice City and Leonida. Not the whole soundtrack

The album is one part of the music. Rockstar says more is coming on the dynamic score and "the next evolution of in-game radio". No radio stations, hosts or in-game track list have been announced (checked September 30, 2026).

Three formats are exclusive to gtavi-thealbum.com: a limited-edition liquid-filled vinyl, a splatter-edition vinyl and a CD in a jewel case.

Other vinyl colorways, each with its own art, are sold at Blood Records, Best Buy, Walmart, Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Target, Urban Outfitters and independent stores.
