Leonida and its six regions

Grand Theft Auto VI is set in the state of Leonida. Rockstar has named six regions and described each one, and its screenshot sets add a good deal of detail. Each region below separates what Rockstar says from what its images show.

Rockstar's Only in Leonida page introduces the state through six places: a city, an island chain, a wetland, a run-down stretch of coast, an industrial heartland and a national landmark near the northern border. Its media page adds a screenshot set for each, which we looked through for this page.

The summaries are ours, written from Rockstar's text. The "shown" notes are our reading of the screenshots and are labeled that way. The regions are listed in Rockstar's order, which is not geographic.

About the map

No map is published on Rockstar's site. The collector's box poster has an illustrated map of Leonida on its back, but Rockstar has not said how it relates to the in-game map, and there are no distances or size figures anywhere.
