Camping and professions
Camping turns the Cooking Fire into a shared campsite: sit for a minute, collect one-hour buffs, and add profession objects other players can use. Blizzard confirmed the rules; the full object list comes from beta testers and is labeled that way.

How camping works
- The fire: the Cooking Fire becomes a Basic Campfire. Placing one makes a campsite where players can rest, sit and pick up benefits.
- What a camp can offer: vendors, repairs, profession workspaces and one-hour buffs.
- Getting the buffs: you have to slow down and sit by the fire for a few moments to get rested before the buffs apply. Blizzard says this is on purpose: it is also a natural place to refresh food buffs, which got a major update in Forever.
- Objects: a Basic Campfire takes up to three special crafted objects from nearby players. Each player adds one, and the objects share a one-hour cooldown.
- Every profession has three objects, learned at different skill levels. Each profession provides its own buff or utility whichever of its three you place.
- First object: learned at skill 20, from a camping NPC or the profession trainer. The advanced objects come from Blueprint recipes that drop from specific dungeon bosses.
- Bigger camps: Cooks learn upgraded Campfires that hold five or ten objects.
- Choose your spot: Blizzard warns that some parts of Azeroth are better for a quiet rest than others.
Blizzard's examples: a Blacksmith's Sharpening Wheel raises Attack Power, a Tailor's Faction Banner raises Spirit and an Herbalist's Incense Candle raises Intellect. Alchemists place an Alchemy Lab, Leatherworkers a Tanning Rack, and the Tanning Rack is required for more advanced Leatherworking recipes.

Every camp object, by profession
Blizzard has named only a handful of these. The rest come from beta testers: Warcraft Tavern's object guide and Icy Veins' camping guide (updated October 6) agree on every profession's three objects and on the 20, 140 and 300 skill steps, so CGN treats the list as reliable for the current build. Skill levels and sources can still change before launch.

Stacking and conflicts
- Tier 1 buffs are variants of class buffs. Blizzard says they do not stack with the buffs classes normally give. Since October 1 the tooltips say "mutually exclusive" instead of just "exclusive".
- Higher tiers keep the lower tier's effect and add a workstation, a vendor or another feature (community report). A higher-tier object can be placed over a lower-tier one at the same camp, ignoring the cooldown.
- Which class buffs they replace (community reports): Mana Well and Blessing of Wisdom; Lodestone and Blessing of Might; Fish Bowl and Blessing of Kings; Enchanted Lute and Mark of the Wild; First Aid Kit and Power Word: Fortitude; Incense Candle and Arcane Intellect; Faction Banner and Divine Spirit; Camp Chair and Moonkin Aura or Leader of the Pack; Sharpening Wheel and Strength of Earth Totem.

Legacy perks that affect camping
Three Legacy perks change camping:
- Field Guide (Adventure tree) reduces the one-hour cooldown on placing camping features.
- Permanence (Resourcefulness tree) increases the duration of party, raid and camping buffs.
- Reagent Economy (Resourcefulness tree) means tier 1 camping features need no materials to craft, along with removing purchasable reagents from class abilities.

Beta changes so far
- September 24: you can buff other players, cast and craft while you wait for the campfire buff, and you can receive it while sitting, in a chair, sleeping, lying down or kneeling.
- October 1: the Boosted Rest debuff from camp features has a new icon and clearer tooltip, the wording is now "mutually exclusive", and campfires no longer damage players below level 5 and do reduced damage to players under 90% health.

Profession changes in the October 1 build
- Some Blacksmithing and Leatherworking recipes meant to be random dungeon drops are now available.
- Crafted common and uncommon wands sell to vendors for 1 copper (Enchanting).
- Fewer Poor Copper Vein nodes in starter areas (Mining).
- Creatures can again be skinned only once before they disappear (Skinning).
Beta Build Blizzard, Oct 1, 2026 ↗
Earlier, in the September 24 build, the Tauren racial Cultivation got a player-level requirement for every herb: the herb's pick level divided by five, with herbs above 300 skill at level 60.

CGN is not publishing "best profession for your class" picks yet. In Forever the camp objects come one per player, so what is worth carrying depends on your group, and Blizzard has not published enough about the later recipes to rank them honestly.
Where sources disagree
- Sharpening Wheel: Blizzard's recap says Attack Power. Both community guides describe the beta tooltip as a Strength buff. Both could be true if tooltips changed; CGN shows both.
- Expert Campfire skill: Warcraft Tavern says 220, Icy Veins says 200. Journeyman is 90 in both.
- Journeyman Campfire blueprint: Icy Veins names Lord Serpentis in Wailing Caverns; Warcraft Tavern says it drops in The Deadmines and Wailing Caverns.
- Cooldowns: Blizzard's recap gives a one-hour shared cooldown for objects. Icy Veins adds a five-minute cooldown for the campfires themselves, which Blizzard has not mentioned.
- Fishing Rack blueprint: Icy Veins says Gelihast in Blackfathom Deeps; Warcraft Tavern says it is fished up from pools.
What we don't know yet
- Where the skill 300 blueprints come from. No source has found them yet.
- Whether the object list, skill steps or buff strengths change before launch.
- The exact values of each buff, and how long you must sit. Blizzard says "a few moments"; Icy Veins says about a minute.
- Where you can and cannot place a campfire.
