What changed from Classic
Shapeshifting works in many more situations: potions, weapon effects, doors and racials no longer drop you out of form. Nature's Grasp and Omen of Clarity are baseline, Lacerate and Revive are new, and Tiger's Fury gave way to a Feral talent called Shifting Power. Blizzard's identity line: any role with the right gear, but no snare, silence or interrupt and weaker crowd control.
Baseline changes
- Almost all potions and similar consumables work in form without cancelling it. Rage potions and Thistletea are now usable by Druids. Most Engineering bombs still cannot be used in form, though some new recipes can.
- Weapon enchants and procs work in form (weightstones, Crusader, Windfury Totem). Melee auto-attacks in Bear, Dire Bear and Cat Form use your weapon's damage per second at a form-based speed of 1.0 or 2.5 seconds.
- Most doors and objects can be used in form, and racials such as Shadowmeld, War Stomp and Walk on Air work in form.
- Nature's Grasp is baseline at level 10 (usable in form and indoors). Omen of Clarity is baseline at 20, and Wrath never consumes it. Revive, an out-of-combat resurrection, comes at level 12. Lacerate, a stacking bleed that generates high threat, comes at level 42.
- Faerie Fire can be cast in Bear and Cat Form for no resource on a 6-second cooldown. Entangling Roots works indoors, Barkskin works in form, Hurricane lost its cooldown, and Wrath costs much less Mana for much less damage.
By talent tree
Balance
- Insect Swarm (new, 16 points): a 12-second Nature damage over time that lowers the target's chance to hit. Nature's Splendor (new, 11 points) lengthens Moonfire, Rejuvenation, Regrowth and Insect Swarm.
- Eclipse (new): casting Wrath shortens your next Starfire casts. Genesis (new) boosts all periodic damage and healing. Overgrowth (new) allows Entangling Roots on three targets.
- Moonkin Form lets you cast all non-healing spells, and its group crit aura now covers all spells and attacks (it no longer stacks with Leader of the Pack).
Feral Combat
- Shifting Power (new, 16 points, added in the October 1 build): converts Mana into 40 Energy for Cat play. Primal Bite (16 points) is the Bear counterpart, a 20-Rage attack with very high threat that Blizzard chose over Mangle.
- Berserk (new, 31 points): a 15-second window with fear immunity, no cooldown on Primal Bite, and extra crit on Cat combo abilities.
- Thick Hide now turns Defense skill into extra armor in form, so Druid tanks can use Defense gear. Feral Charge (11 points) gains a Cat version. Heart of the Wild moved to row 1.
Restoration
- Wild Growth (new, 31 points): a heal over time on everyone in the target's party, including pets, with a 6-second cooldown and a high Mana cost.
- Swiftmend moved to row 4 as the 16-point talent and no longer consumes your Rejuvenation or Regrowth. Gift of the Earthmother (new, 11 points) shortens the global cooldown on Rejuvenation, Swiftmend and Wild Growth.
- Furor's Cat Form part was redesigned so you cannot weave Bear and Cat for free Energy; Shifting Power gives power-shifting back in a simpler form. Natural Shapeshifter moved here.
Blizzard Confirmed Blizzard, Sep 30, 2026 ↗ (summarized in CGN's words; the Blizzard article has the full list)
Blizzard says class abilities and talents may keep changing during the beta. Where a later beta build changed something, the beta section below has it.
How talents work: Talents start at level 10 and keep Classic's rows. One-point milestone talents sit at 11, 21 and 31 points spent, and a new 16-point milestone was added. Some talents are unchanged from patch 1.12, some are changed, and some class buffs that used to be talents (Blessing of Kings, Improved Mark of the Wild, Divine Spirit) are now baseline. To respec, including Legacy talents, visit a class trainer in a major city. Dual Specialization arrives at level 40.
Talent trees and milestone talents
Each tree has one-point milestone talents. This table is built from the same beta talent data as the planner (October 1 build, with Blizzard's October 8 talent changes). A level 30 character has 21 talent points (one per level from 10 to 30), so the 31-point talents are out of reach at the beta cap. The Legacy perk Talented can unlock talent points up to five levels earlier.

Level-30 builds
CGN publishes one 21-point level-30 build per role-spec, each decoded from Icy Veins' level-30 guides and validated against the planner data.
| Spec | Role | Summary | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Balance Druid | DPS | Improved Wrath, Moonglow and Nature's Splendor, then Insect Swarm at 25. | See the build → |
| Feral Combat Druid | DPS | One build for Cat and Bear: Ferocity, Shifting Power, Primal Bite and Leader of the Pack at 30. | See the build → |
| Feral Combat Druid | Tank | The same Feral build as DPS; in Bear Form, Primal Bite now makes twice the threat. | See the build → |
| Restoration Druid | Healer | A full healing build: Naturalist, Gift of the Earthmother and Gift of Nature, then Swiftmend and Nature's Swiftness. | See the build → |
A build here is not "best in slot": CGN has not validated a full item pool at the beta cap.
Beta changes so far
October 8 build (Oct 8, 2026)
- Rage from taking damage was miscalculated and is fixed: it used your own health instead of the expected creature's (so Stamina gear lowered it), mishandled critical strikes and crushing blows, and counted damage absorbs. Warriors and Druids should get more Rage when hit. Blizzard's note: Rage gains had been balanced around 50% armor, which suited tanks but not questing Warriors. They are now balanced around 20 to 40% armor, depending on level.
- Bear Form and Dire Bear Form give 100% more Rage on critical strikes (was 75%).
- Bear Form and Dire Bear Form threat bonus is 50% (was 30%).
- Thorns: base damage is back to Vanilla values and the spell power ratio is 6% (was 13.3%).
- Mana potions work in Bear, Dire Bear and Cat Form, and Cat Form no longer lowers your maximum health.
- Fewer effects override your shapeshift form. Those that still do have another benefit, such as Noggenfogger Elixir letting you breathe underwater. Blizzard's note: Blizzard wants players to be able to see which form a Druid is in.
- Demoralizing Roar now causes some threat on every target it hits.
- Wrath ranks 1 to 5 were retuned so each new rank is an upgrade and the ranks grow more evenly.
- Feral: Predatory Instincts is renamed Natural Instinct and also adds spell healing equal to 12/25% of your Intellect.
- Feral: Shifting Power can't be used at full Energy.
- Feral: Thick Hide is now built into the game code instead of a script, so equipping gear while shapeshifted triggers it properly.
October 1 build (updated October 2) (Oct 1, 2026)
- Bear Form and Dire Bear Form give 75% more Rage when you land a critical strike.
- Swipe now scales with attack power (3% of it). Fixed a bug that stopped this. Blizzard's note: The tooltip will not update correctly until a later build.
- Tiger's Fury was removed.
- All shapeshift forms are immune to Disarm. If you are disarmed before you shift, the form does not remove the Disarm and you deal reduced damage until it ends.
- Faerie Fire no longer resets your swing timer.
- Feral: Primal Bite's threat was roughly doubled.
- Feral: the King of the Jungle talent was removed.
- Feral: new talent Shifting Power, connected to Shredding Attacks in row 4. Cat Form only, 16-second cooldown, costs 55% of base mana and instantly converts it into 40 Energy. Effects that reduce shapeshift cost reduce its cost, and it costs the same as Cat Form.
- Feral: new talent Improved Shifting Power in row 5 shortens Shifting Power's cooldown by 4 or 8 seconds.
September 24 build (Sep 24, 2026)
- Rejuvenation and Tranquility can now land critical hits. Wrath's base damage rose about 50%.
- Thorns scales with the caster's spell power and falls back to its base values if the caster is missing or too far away.
- Feral: Mangle was renamed Primal Bite because its debuff was removed. Talents that named Mangle now name Primal Bite, and Primal Fury was renamed back to Blood Frenzy with its original icon.
- Feral: Feral Charge (Cat) can no longer be cast on allies.
- Restoration: Wild Growth can now land critical hits.

Open or promised beta issues that mention Druid
- Skyborne Druid Bear and Travel Forms have their updated textures, but Skyborne Cat Form, various Zephras Isle creatures and some mounts, pets and other creatures get theirs in a later build.
What we don't know yet
- How Druid compares at level 60: the beta cap is 30 and the 31-point talents cannot be tested yet.
- Final abilities and talents, which Blizzard says may change during the beta.
