Blizzard Confirmed Blizzard, Sep 22, 2026 ↗ · Blizzard, Sep 22, 2026 ↗
What changed from Classic
Rage was reworked: Rage from taking damage ignores armor, and damage dealt is normalized by weapon speed with a bonus on crits. Victory Rush and Tactical Mastery are baseline, and several cooldowns were separated. Blizzard has acknowledged Rage generation bugs in the beta. The Fury and Protection trees were rearranged again on October 1.
Baseline changes
- Rage from taking damage uses the old formula as if you always had 50% armor reduction, so wearing armor does not reduce Rage gained. Power Word: Shield and other absorbs do not reduce it either.
- Rage from dealing damage is based on weapon speed. Critical strikes give extra Rage: 75% more in the notes of September 30, raised to 100% on October 1 and 2.
- Tactical Mastery at level 14 lets you keep 10 Rage when changing stance. Victory Rush at level 20 is an instant attack on a 30-second cooldown that heals you for 10% of your health, usable for 20 seconds after you kill a non-trivial enemy.
- Recklessness, Retaliation and Shield Wall no longer share a cooldown, and Retaliation and Shield Wall are 15 minutes. Rend, Thunder Clap and Sunder Armor scale with attack power, and Thunder Clap works in Defensive Stance with a 6-second cooldown.
By talent tree
Arms
- Spearing Strike (new, 16 points): an instant 15-Rage attack that dismounts the target and does double damage to mounted targets, Dragons and Giants. As of October 1 it needs Battle Stance but not a two-hander.
- Weaponmaster (new) replaces the four weapon specializations with one talent that gives a bonus based on your weapon type. Bloodthrill (new) lets main-hand attacks on targets with Rend trigger Overpower.
- Improved Slam moved here from Fury and no longer delays your swing.
Fury
- Reworked October 1: new Lingering Rage (row 2), Furious Precision (row 3) and Gore Drinker (row 6). Raging Blows is a 16-point talent that cuts the Rage cost of Cleave and Whirlwind, and Whirlwind now always strikes with both weapons.
- Bloodthirst no longer heals you; it gives 10% movement speed for 10 seconds, and its attack power ratio is 45%. Death Wish now raises all damage you take while active.
- Berserker Rage is available at level 30. Flurry now needs Death Wish rather than Enrage.
Protection
- Vanguard (new, 16 points): you can use Charge in Defensive Stance. Bastion (new) adds damage while a shield is equipped, and Focused Rage (new) lowers the Rage cost of offensive abilities.
- Shield Specialization can give 5 Rage on a block. Master of Defense (new) can give 5 Rage when you dodge or parry with a shield. Improved Shield Block and Improved Taunt are baseline.
- Rearranged October 1: Iron Will moved to row 1 and Toughness was removed, so a non-shield build can reach the middle of the tree.
Blizzard Confirmed Blizzard, Sep 30, 2026 ↗ (summarized in CGN's words; the Blizzard article has the full list)
Blizzard says class abilities and talents may keep changing during the beta. Where a later beta build changed something, the beta section below has it.
How talents work: Talents start at level 10 and keep Classic's rows. One-point milestone talents sit at 11, 21 and 31 points spent, and a new 16-point milestone was added. Some talents are unchanged from patch 1.12, some are changed, and some class buffs that used to be talents (Blessing of Kings, Improved Mark of the Wild, Divine Spirit) are now baseline. To respec, including Legacy talents, visit a class trainer in a major city. Dual Specialization arrives at level 40.
Where Blizzard's own posts differ.
- Blizzard's September 30 deep dive lists a Fury talent called Precision (row 5, more chance to hit). The October 1 client data, which the planner follows, has no Precision. The October 1 notes add Furious Precision in row 3 and remove Improved Cleave and Boundless Rage, so CGN treats the deep dive's Fury list as superseded for those talents.
- Blizzard's notes call one Fury talent both Unbridled Rage and Unbridled Wrath. The client data calls it Unbridled Wrath.
Talent trees and milestone talents
Each tree has one-point milestone talents. This table is built from the same beta talent data as the planner (October 1 build, with Blizzard's October 8 talent changes). A level 30 character has 21 talent points (one per level from 10 to 30), so the 31-point talents are out of reach at the beta cap. The Legacy perk Talented can unlock talent points up to five levels earlier.

Level-30 builds
CGN publishes one 21-point level-30 build per role-spec, each decoded from Icy Veins' level-30 guides and validated against the planner data.
| Spec | Role | Summary | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Arms Warrior | DPS | Rend, Deep Wounds and Anger Management for steady damage and rage, with Sweeping Strikes at 30. | See the build → |
| Fury Warrior | DPS | Fury's new October 1 tree: Unbridled Wrath and Dual Wield Specialization for rage, Death Wish at 30. Strong in groups, weak solo. | See the build → |
| Protection Warrior | Tank | Rage from blocks, dodges and parries (Shield Specialization, Master of Defense), Improved Revenge, and Vanguard at 30. | See the build → |
A build here is not "best in slot": CGN has not validated a full item pool at the beta cap.
Beta changes so far
October 8 build (Oct 8, 2026)
- Rage from taking damage was miscalculated and is fixed: it used your own health instead of the expected creature's (so Stamina gear lowered it), mishandled critical strikes and crushing blows, and counted damage absorbs. Warriors and Druids should get more Rage when hit. Blizzard's note: Rage gains had been balanced around 50% armor, which suited tanks but not questing Warriors. They are now balanced around 20 to 40% armor, depending on level.
- Demoralizing Shout now causes some threat on every target it hits.
- Arms: Deep Wounds is required again to reach Impale.
- Arms: Deep Wounds no longer scales with your off-hand weapon's attack power. Blizzard's note: Deep Wounds doesn't scale with attack power, but unlike Classic it is a rolling damage-over-time effect.
- Protection: Last Stand gives the correct amount of health.
October 1 build (updated October 2) (Oct 1, 2026)
- You generate 100% more Rage when you land a critical strike with a basic attack. It was added at 75% and raised to 100% on October 2.
- Rend and Sunder Armor now instantly tap enemies to you.
- Queueing Heroic Strike no longer increases off-hand hit chance.
- Fixed a bug that gave Dual Wield Specialization's hit chance to both weapons. Blizzard's note: Tests had to be corrected because of that bug, so Fury got another pass.
- Arms: Spearing Strike no longer needs a two-handed weapon. It requires Battle Stance.
- Fury: Dual Wield Specialization no longer gives 20 to 100% extra Rage from off-hand attacks, and no longer gives hit chance to off-hand attacks.
- Fury: fixed Unbridled Rage having a lower proc chance than intended; Unbridled Wrath no longer gives two-handed weapons twice the Rage. Blizzard's note: Goal: more utility and meaningful choices early in the tree for leveling, and free points later instead of forcing them into Enrage to reach Flurry.
- Fury: Booming Voice is now a 10/20/30/40/50% bigger area for shouts and 5/10/15/20/25% lower Rage cost for them.
- Fury: new talent Lingering Rage in row 2 delays Rage decay after combat by 2/4/6/8/10 seconds.
- Fury: new talent Furious Precision in row 3 adds 4/7/10% off-hand hit chance.
- Fury: new talent Gore Drinker in row 6 (requires Enrage). Your Enrage, Berserker Rage, Bloodrage, Death Wish and Bloodthirst make your next 3 melee attacks restore 0.5/1% of your maximum Health.
- Fury: Blood Craze no longer triggers from Bloodthirst. The Improved Cleave and Boundless Rage talents were removed.
- Fury: Raging Blows now cuts the Rage cost of Cleave and Whirlwind by 3, and no longer makes Whirlwind strike with the off hand. Whirlwind always strikes with both weapons without a talent.
- Fury: Enrage is no longer required to reach Flurry. Death Wish is.
- Fury: Improved Berserker Rage moved to row 5 (it was row 6). Berserker Rage is available at level 30 (it was 32).
- Fury: Bloodthirst's attack power ratio is 45% (it was 35%).
- Protection: Iron Will moved to row 1 (it was row 2 of Fury), Anticipation to row 2, Improved Bloodrage to row 1, Improved Revenge to row 2, Improved Disarm to row 3 and Improved Shield Bash to row 4. Toughness was removed. Blizzard's note: Goal: give non-shield users a clear path to the middle of the tree so Protection can serve as a PvP tech secondary specialization, with access to Improved Bloodrage, Iron Will, Improved Disarm, Last Stand and Improved Shield Bash.
September 24 build (Sep 24, 2026)
- Sunder Armor's threat was corrected on all ranks, with a small increase from attack power.
- Protection: Bastion (row 5) and Focused Rage (row 6) swap places. Blizzard's note: Give Focused Rage sooner to smooth leveling before Shield Slam. Players reported this swap was not in the client yet, and the planner follows the client.
- Arms: Bloodthrill's chance is 4/8/12/16/20% (it was 2/4/6/8/10%) but only triggers from main-hand attacks, including Cleave and Heroic Strike. Slam's cooldown is 18 seconds (it was 15) and Improved Slam shortens it by 1.5 or 3 seconds.

Open or promised beta issues that mention Warrior
- The Cooldown Manager is still a work in progress, and how complete it is varies by class. Banes and curses do not track after you drop and re-acquire a target, Healthstone, Arcane Blast, pet cooldowns and item enhancements (Windfury, rogue poisons) cannot be tracked, a Mana gem needs another spell cast to start tracking, and Priest tracks all spells by default.
What we don't know yet
- How Warrior compares at level 60: the beta cap is 30 and the 31-point talents cannot be tested yet.
- Final abilities and talents, which Blizzard says may change during the beta.
