Sources and method

How this site checks facts

Diablo IV changes quickly and specialist sites disagree. This page explains where facts come from, how we label them, how freshness works, and the limits of what we verify.

Season 15

Checked September 29, 2026 · patch 3.2.2 · Season 15

An open book of old sketches lies on a candlelit desk among scrolls, worn books and a skull.

Specialist and community sources

Evidence labels

  • Official Official current mechanic. Stated by Blizzard as how the game works now.
  • Patch Official patch or change. Listed in Blizzard's patch notes or season overview.
  • Tested Measured or community-tested behavior. Found by players or datamining; not stated by Blizzard.
  • Meta Meta or community interpretation. Tier lists, build recommendations and rankings from specialist sites.
  • CGN CGN editorial synthesis. Our own reading, combining the above.

Freshness and review

Every build and data record carries a season, a patch, a last-verified date and a source note. The homepage's Recently updated list is built from those real dates: a page only moves up when its content was checked, not when it was rebuilt.

  • Current Post-launch sources that roughly agree.
  • Needs review A guide predates Season 15, key items were retuned in 3.2.1, or sources split by three or more tiers.
  • Outdated A patch changed the build's core. None right now.

A tuning patch flags affected builds for a person to read; we do not rewrite a build from a scraped tier list. Because the data is kept in structured files, moving to a new season means updating the records, not rewriting pages.

Tier lists are compared, not merged. The tier page sorts by the average of the listed placements as plain arithmetic and marks when sources split.

What this site does not do

  • It is not run by Blizzard. It is an unofficial fan site and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Blizzard Entertainment. Diablo, Diablo IV and related names, characters, logos and game content belong to Blizzard Entertainment.
  • It does not copy guide sites. Build cards and tier rows are our summaries with citations. The full builds live on the linked guides.
  • It does not publish a skill planner or Loot Filter import strings. Neither can be verified against the live game from here.
  • It does not track prices, player counts or activity. Any live element, such as the news list, shows its source and date.
  • It has not tested some things. We cannot play the game in every mode. Where a page relies on community testing or datamining, it says so.

Page artwork is original CGN fan artwork, not official Blizzard art, and is used only as decoration; nothing in it is factual game information.
