Red Dead Online is a long menu of things to do alone or with a posse. This page sorts them by type, so you can see what is worth your time and what the monthly bonuses usually apply to.

Free Roam Missions
Strangers you meet in Free Roam offer these. They can be played alone or with a posse, and timers are generous, so you can hunt, sample animals or collect items while you do them. They are easier than most Bounty Hunter and Blood Money content. Community Rockstar's September 2026 event pays 3X RDO$ and XP on them. This month
The kinds of job
- Escort and supply runs: guard a caravan or drive a wagon
- Rescues, recoveries and a jailbreak
- Theft: boats, horses, wagons
- Deliveries and destroying supplies
- Paid killings, hunts for predators, and early execution or release of prisoners
Free Roam Events
These begin during a session. Join in and the payout rewards your placement. Some are open to everyone, and some belong to a role. Community
- Open to all: Cold Dead Hands, Dispatch Rider, King of the Castle, Master Archer, Fool's Gold, Railroad Baron, Dead of Night (Halloween), fishing challenges and Wild Animal Kills challenges.
- Bounty Hunter: Day of Reckoning and Manhunt.
- Trader: Trade Route, where you guard goods on a train.
- Collector: Salvage and Condor Egg.
- Naturalist: Protect Legendary Animal and Wild Animal Tagging.
Featured and Showdown Series
The Featured Series is a weekly pick from the competitive modes that pays extra. In Rockstar's September event it pays 3X RDO$ and XP, with a different series each week. Showdown Series modes include Gun Rush, Head for the Hills, Hostile Territory, Make It Count and Most Wanted. Official Community
Call to Arms
Up to four players defend a town from ten waves of increasingly numerous and dangerous enemies, with five minutes to prepare and breaks between waves. Five locations are listed: Blackwater, Fort Mercer, Valentine, Strawberry and MacFarlane's Ranch. You unlock it from a telegram signed "J" in your camp lockbox or at a post office. Win by surviving all ten waves with at least one AI ally still alive. Community
Telegram Missions
Telegrams arrive at your local post office or your camp lockbox. Open your satchel and go to Documents to launch them. Rockstar's August 2026 post named a run of them, including A Tough Business, Skelding's Contract and Strange Tales of the West, all paying triple that month. Official
Blood Money
Blood Money came with Title Update 1.25. You start with Guido Martelli in Saint Denis, take on Crime Contracts for his contacts, and then run more elaborate, higher-paying Opportunities. Support Official
Bounties
With a license, Bounty Hunters pick up work from boards. Regular, Legendary and Infamous bounties exist, and Infamous targets need the Prestigious license. Bringing a target in alive pays more.
